About

Katherine Weiss is an educator with over 10 years experience working with children, families and educators. Born into a family of teachers, Katherine has always been passionate about work with children. As an undergraduate and post-graduate, Katherine studied psychoanalytic approaches to psychotherapy with children and families, refining her knowledge of development and communication that continue to inform the work she does today. She began her journey as a teacher in arts focused, Reggio-inspired settings, with a strong value on emotionally responsive practices, process art and inquiry-based learning. Katherine continued her own educational journey at Bank Street Graduate School of Education, completing an MSEd in Progressive Leadership for Pre-K - 12 schools. She is a recipient of the 2025 Prospect School and Center for Research and Education Archives Practitioner Fellowship from the University of Vermont Libraries.

A Note From Katherine

Working in schools and early childhood centers, the opportunity to spend time in other educators classrooms and to brainstorm and problem solve alongside them has been a privilege. Combining my education, practice and pedagogy in these Professional Development Workshops for Educators has been the culmination of many years of conversation and collaboration with other educators and work with children and families.

“Observe and listen to children because when they ask “why?” they are not simply asking for the answer from you. They are requesting the courage to find a collection of possible answers.”
